Venice is different from other cities in Italy because there are no roads, cars, buses and trains. But there are canals that are waterways to go from place to place. Gondolas and floating motor powered buses are two ways to get around.
In Venice, there is a beautiful cathedral called St. Mark's. There is a legend that an angel came to St. Mark and told him that his resting place would be in Venice. Years later, merchants made the legend come true by stealing the body of St. Mark from Alexandria, Egypt. St. Mark is buried in the cathedral. Another thing that is unique about Venice is its artwork. Lots of famous artists lived there.
