Today is so hot. The flowers are all wilted and dead. The water from the well was the only thing cold. I brought Joseph and Pa ginger water out in the fields. They were very tired and hot. I went swimming in our pond today and it felt good. Yesterday we all went into town for Independence Day. Pa bought us candy and firecrackers and we watched the band and the fireworks.
