Pioneer Diary June 20, 1870

Today we went to town. Pa had to buy tobacco and Mother wanted some material to make me a dress because mine was too tight. We took baths and changed into our best clothes. Pa yoked the oxen and we started off in the wagon. When we got to the general store, Pa and Joseph were looking at some guns. Mother picked out some pretty blue calico for me. Then Pa bought candy sticks for Joseph and me. Baby Joy is too little and she would choke. I also needed a bonnet because mine got very worn out. Mother got one that matched my new dress.
