Aries is a constellation of the zodiac. It is the first sign of the zodiac. Aries is symbolized as a fierce ram and named after the Roman god of war. Mars is the Greek name for Aries. That is why astrologers believe that Mars, the fourth planet from the sun, rules the zodiac sign Aries. As a constellation though, Aries is just three main stars in the sky. Well, four if you are counting double, or binary stars. Aries has a binary star in it named Gamma Arietis. If you look very closely at the sky in a dark place for the constellation Aries, you just might see its binary star.
